Nepalgunj, April 20

NIC Asia Dangali Gorkhas and Pappu Construction Rolpa Gorillas won their matches of the Ashirbad Paints Nepalgunj Cup T20 Tournament here today.

Dangali Gorkhas defeated Arghakhanchi Cements Bardiya Tigers by eight wickets, while Rolpa Gorillas saw off Ashirbad Paints Palpa Yoddhas by 19 runs.

In the first match, Bardiya Tigers posted 129-7 in their allotted 20 overs before Dangali Gorkhas reached 130-2 in 17.2 overs. Dangali Gorkhas won the match riding on player-of-the-match Manoj Sunar’s 34-ball 50 that included four boundaries and two sixes. Sandeep Sunar contributed 29 off 17 balls that included four boundaries and two sixes.

Bardiya Tigers’ Akash Bista and Abinash Bohara claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, Rajbir Singh scored 28 runs and Akash Bista contributed 25 runs to help Bardiya Tigers post a fighting total. Dangali Gorkhas’ Bishnu Katariya and Amar Singh Rautela picked up two wickets each.

In another match, Rolpa Gorillas were bowled out for 106 runs in 19.1 overs before packing Palpa Yoddhas for 88 runs in 16.1 overs. Rolpa Gorillas posted a fighting total riding on skipper Saurav Khanal’s 48 off 56 balls that included five boundaries and two sixes.

Palpa Yoddhas’ Siddhant Raj Shahi picked up three wickets, while Bijay Chaudhary and Dipendra Rawat claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Prakash KC top scored for Palpa Yoddhas with 20 runs and Pranit Thapa added 15 runs. Player-of-the-match Binod Lama was the pick of the Rolpa Gorillas’ bowlers taking three wickets, while Nandan Yadav and Bansant Karki claimed two wickets each.
