Government keen to allot 13th SA Games events to Pokhara

Minister for Youth and Sports Rajendra Kumar KC today said a couple of events of the 13th South Asian Games would be allotted to Pokhara.
Minster KC, who visited Pokhara Stadium, said Pokhara could host a couple of events at the multipurpose covered hall, which is under construction on the stadium premises.
KC also said that the sports should be connected with tourism for the development of sports sector in Pokhara as the local players had gained popularity at national and international level. “Infrastructure development and preparations for the 13th SAG are the major responsibilities,” he said.
Similarly, National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Bista, who accompanied Minister KC, said at least five to six events could be played in Pokhara. Meanwhile, Eastern Regional Sports Development Committee Vice-president Sunil Kumar Gurung urged the minister to stop wrongdoings claiming that the officials were involved in corruption.
“Corruptions in the name of sports should be stopped,” said Gurung. Kaski District Sports Development Committee President Yam Bahadur Gurung said Pokhara lacked the number of coaches.
