LALITPUR: Shivali Gurung won the Circuit-I girls' singles title of the 20th Jayakar Memorial U-14 ATF Tournament here at the International Sports Complex tennis courts on Saturday.
Gurung defeated Adya Poudyal 6-4, 6-1 in the all-Nepal final. Gurung had earlier teamed up with Swostika Bista to win girls' doubles title. India's Siddharth Jeebu and Vivaan Mirda defeated Pakistan's Zohaib Afzal Malik and Hamood Eyad of Yemen 6-4, 6-4 in boys' doubles final. On Friday, Mirda beat Nepal's Ayushman Hajur Ghale 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-2 in boys' singles final. A total of 43 players - 26 boys and 17 girls - took part in the tournament organised by Man Jayakar Tennis Academy under the auspices of Nepal Tennis Association. NTA President Jyoti Rana, former president Manoj Rana, Vice-president Keshav Raj Pandey and Tournament Director Malika Basnet among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
The Circuit-II tournament is beginning on Monday.
