Guus Hiddink returns to Chelsea as manager until end of season
LONDON: Guus Hiddink is back at Chelsea for a second spell as manager, succeeding Jose Mourinho until the end of the season.
Chelsea said in a statement Saturday that the Dutchman, who won the FA Cup in 2009 during four months in charge at Stamford Bridge, "has a wealth of top-level experience and success."
Hiddink has been out of work since being fired by the Netherlands in June.
Hiddink said: "I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world but is not where it should be at the moment. However, I am sure we can all turn this season around."
After winning the Premier League seven month ago, Chelsea is only one point above the relegation zone.
