KATHMANDU: Gyan Niketan School, Neric Academy and Angel Lord recorded victories in the senior boys' category of the 20th Gyan Niketan Cup Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.
The hosts Gyan Niketan defeated KMC School 49-24 riding on 24 points from Tushar Maharjan, while Yogesh Khatri netted 20 points as Neric beat Manaslu School 36-18.
Also, Ravi Khadka scored 29 points in Angel Lord's 43-41 victory over Kathmandu Xavier. In junior boys' section, Kathmandu Xavier defeated Gyan Niketan 18-9 riding on 10 points from Subin Basnet, while Rajan Ghale scored four points as Greenfield beat KMC School 12-4. In girls' section, Gyan Niketan defeated Manaslu 13-8 riding on seven points from Nista Giri.
