Heartland College claim CPL crown

Heartland College lifted the title of Expert College Premier League Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium today.
Heartland edged past Sudur Paschimanchal Academy (SPA) by four runs in the final. With the win, Heartland received Rs 200,000, while SPA walked away with Rs 100,000. Batting first, Heartland scored 142-9 in 20 overs and packed SPA for 138 in 20 overs.
Pradeep Airee top scored for Heartland with 34 off 22 balls with four fours and two sixes, while Bhuwan Karki scored 29 off 27 balls. Ashwini Mandani was the pick of the SPA bowlers with the figures of 4-19, while Santosh Bhatt grabbed two and Lalit Singh Bhandari took a wicket.
In reply, SPA never looked comfortable against Heartland attack as they kept on losing wickets at regular interval. Ashwini Mandani top scored for SPA with 57 off 46 balls with four fours and a six, while Rahul Singh made 33 off 18 deliveries with two fours and as many sixes.
Man-of-the-match Bipin Chandra claimed three wickets for Heartland, while Pradeep Airee grabbed two. Chandra Saud and Aakash Kaushal also took a wicket apiece.
Sandeep Sunar of SPA was named the best player of the tournament and also won the best batsman’s award. Sunar received a Bajaj Avenger motorcycle. Pradeep Airee of Heartland received the best bowler’s award.
