Himalayan White House College defeated Shepherd College by five wickets in the second-day match of the second KCC running Trophy cricket tournament today. Shepherd College, invited to bat first, were restricted to 113 runs for eight wickets in their allotted 25 overs at Institute of Engeneering ground. Prabal Ratna Tuladhar was the top-scorer with 24 of 42 balls. Kabindra Upadhyaya scored 18 off 31 balls while others failed to reach double fugure mark.
For Himalayan, Sabin Udas was the best among five bowlers used. Udas took two wickets conceding 12 runs in five overs. Raj Shrestha, Pravash Pokhrel, Rajiv Thapa and Asim Subedi grabbed one wicket apiece.
In reply, Himalayan White House overcame the target losing five wickets with 52 balls to spare. Santosh Jaiswal top-scored in the matc with 30 off 35 balls, while Asim Subedi remained unbeaten on 19 off 33 balls. Raj Shrestha contributed 11 off 14 runs. For Shepherd College, Birendra Yadav took two wickets conceding 20 runs in 4.2 overs, while Prabal Ratna Tuladhar and Dipankar Kasaju pocketed one wicket each.Santosh Jaiswal of Himalayan White House was declared the man of the match. The 15-day tournament has been organised by Student Council of Kantipur City College. The Himalayan Times is the official media of the 14-team tournament.
