Hirscher victorious
KRANJSKA GORA: Marcel Hirscher, who is virtually assured of the overall alpine skiing World Cup title, won the slalom in Kranjska Gora on Sunday, but Henrik Kristoffersen sealed the discipline’s Crystal Globe. Austrian Hirscher will win a fifth consecutive overall World Cup after Kristoffersen announced on Saturday that he would not take part in the remaining speed events. But the Norwegian took the slalom title that Hirscher had held for three years as his second-place finish, 0.81seconds behind Hirscher, was enough to lead by 111 points with just one race remaining. “It’s incredible, it’s my first Crystal Globe!” Kristoffersen said after sealing a place on the podium.
