KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 6

Non-resident Nepalis living in the west coast of US and Canada participated in a golf championship to promote sports tourism in the country.

According to Narayan Gurung, Honorary Consul for Seattle in Washington State, USA, AC Sherpa won the Northwest Nepali Golf Championship, which was organised in Seattle on September 3.

More than 15 golfers from Washington State and Oregon State of USA and Vancouver and Victoria BC of Canada took part in the event, which was organised to promote sports tourism, Gurung shared.

"I am very happy to win the first ever championship organised by Nepalis from USA and Canada," Sherpa reacted.

According to Gurung, the winners include:

Closest to Pin, Niranjan Shrestha, Portland, Oregon, USA

Runner Up, Nirmal Shrestha, Portland, Oregon, USA
