Host honour for Nepal

KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to host the sixth South Asian Bodybuilding Championships here on May 4-7 next year.

A meeting of the South Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation in Dubai had recently granted the hosting rights to Nepal, said the Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (NBFA) here at a press meet today.

The event features championships in eight weight categories — 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and 85kg, informed the NBFA. In all 120 bodybuilders will compete in the four day event. The estimated cost of the event is Rs 2.5 million, said the organisers.

Nepali bodybuilder Sachit Pradhan was feted on the occasion for his seventh place finish in the first World Bodybuilding Championships held in Dubai on November 3-8. In only his first international participation, Pradhan earned the top 10 finish in the event participating in by bodybuilders from 67 nations.
