Hosts CCRC ‘A’ defeated Little Angles’ Higher Secondary School by four wickets in the final of the 1st CCRC Cup HSEB-level Inter-college Cricket Tournament here at Institute of Engineering ground today. The 15-day tournament was organised by Capital College and Research Centre an The Himalayan Times was the official media. Elected to bat, Little Angles’ were bowled out for 123 runs in their allotted 30 overs. Opener Rohit Bista scored exact half century off 71 balls, which included five hits to the ropes. Prajwol scored 12 off 28 balls with a boundary and Prashant made 11 off 16 balls including a four.
For CCRC, Pratik took four wickets conceding 17 runs in 3.3 overs, while Anuj Kattel claimed two wickets giving away nine runs in six overs. Bikash Tamang, Jigme Sherpa and Bikash Joshi pocketed one wicket each. In reply, CCRC overcame the target in 29.5 overs losing six wickets. Bikash Tamang scored 44 off 84 balls including three fours. Punit Khanal scored 23 off 51 balls with three fours, Bikash Joshi made 10 off 11 balls that included a four. For LAS, man of the match Rohit took two wickets conceding 24 runs in six overs, while Saurav Shrestha, Sujan, Ashish, and Subhash pocketed one each. Narayan Koirala, joint secretary and spokesperson of HSEB, gave away prizes.
