HSC, JYC secure victories; NRT, FC share spoils

KATHMANDU: Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC), Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) secured wins while New Road Team (NRT) and Friends Club (FC) played a 1-1 draw during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu, on Wednesday.

HSC struck four second-half goals to thump Brigade Boys Club 4-1 at the ANFA Complex Ground. Goha Patrick Privat opened the scoring for HSC in the 46th minute.

HSC's Bhisan Gurung scored his first and team's second in the 54-minute before Biswash Shrestha notched his brace in the 61st and 80th minute. BBC's substitute Bartaman Rai scored a consolation goal in the 87th minute.

HSC's skipper Man Bahadur Tamang won the man of the match award and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10, 000.

In another match, JYC's Aruj Singh and Fode Fofana scored in the 55th and 65th minute at ANFA Complex ground to beat Machhindra by 2-1.

MC's Alaba scored in the second half's stoppage time but JYC rearguard thwarted MC's late pressure to secure all-important three points today. Later, JYC's Aruj Singh was adjudged man of the match.

NRT and NIBL Friends Club played a 1-1 draw at the Halchowk Ground today. NRT took a lead on the stroke of halftime as Sushil Lama clearance hits Bobby Ogolla and deflected into own net.

FC's Ashim Bhusal heads in an equalizer in the 78th minute of the second half. Later, FC's Rumesh Bartaula is awarded man of the match.

In tomorrow's fixture, APF will take on Chyasal Youth Club in early kickoff 11:00 am and SaroswotiYouth Club will square off against the league leader Manang Marsyangdi Club in late kickoff 2:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Signature Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) lead the 14-team table on 30 points from 10 matches and New Road Team (NRT) languish on the bottom with five points from 11 games.
