HSC, SC register victories; SYC and JYC share points
KATHMANDU: CMG Sankata Club, Himalayan Sherpa Club secured victories whereas Saraswoti Youth Club and Grandmaster Jawalakhel Youth Club played a stalemate goalless draw during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu, on Monday.
CMG Sankata Club thrashed NIBL Friends Club 3-1 at the APF's ground in Halchowk today. SC's foreign recruit Ellon Maxwell opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Friends Club's Prazel Tamang equalised on the stroke of halftime.
However, after the restart, SC scored two quickfire goals within the space of three minutes to beat spirited JYC. Tampi Ernest and Dipesh Ale Magar notched goals in the 54th and 57th minute of the game respectively.
Later, SC's Suvash Gurung was awarded man of the match for his brilliant performance.
In another game of the day, Himalayan Sherpa Club romped to 1-0 victory over New Road Team at ANFA's Complex Ground in Satdobato of Lalitpur.
Bishwash Shrestha's strike proved enough for HSC to defeat bottom team NRT. After securing the fourth triumph, HSC climbed to sixth in the table on 14 points from nine matches. Later, Tridev Gurung of HSC was awarded man of the match.
Likewise, in another encounter today, Grandmaster Jawalakhel Youth Club and Saraswoti Youth Club played a stalemate draw and shared a point each at the ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato.
Later, JYC's Gautam Shrestha won man of the match award.
In tomorrow's play, APF will take on Machhindra Club in early kick-off 11:00 am and league leader Signature Manang Marsyandgi Club will square off against Chyasal Youth Club in late kick-off 2:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Signature Manang Marsyangdi Club lead the 14-team table on 24 points with a superior goal difference over CMG Sankata Club and New Road Team yet to taste a victory sit on the bottom with a solitary point.
