KATHMANDU, JULY 11

Nasir Yahya Hussain claimed three more gold medals on the second day of the 10th NSA Cup Open and Agegroup Swimming Championship here at the International Sports Complex pool today.

Hussain, who bagged two golds on the first day, won the 200m freestyle 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly events to take the tally to five gold medals.

Hussain won the 200m freestyle gold in two minutes and 3.80 seconds, finishing ahead of Irvin Shrestha (2:8.94) and Tenzin Namdol Ryan Gurung (2:9.03).

Likewise, Hussain finished first in the 100m breaststroke event with the timing of one minute and 12.54 seconds, while Bikash Kumal came second in 1:12.68 and Dipanker Awale was third in 1:14.60. In the 100m butterfly event, Hussain won gold in 59.60 seconds, finishing ahead of Anubhav Subba (1:00.25) and Alvin Maharjan (1:05.29).

In the women's section, Duana Lama bagged two golds and a silver medal. Lama won 200m freestyle event in two minutes and 18.05 seconds, while Niva Maskey came second in 2:19.15 and Anushiya Tandukar was third in 2:2470.

Lama claimed her second gold of the day when she finished first in 100m breaststroke with the timing of one minute and 18.77 seconds.

Upasti Maharjan won silver in 1:23.63, while Royal Prajapati came third in 1:26.67.

Lama finished second behind Nivya Maskey in the 100m butterfly event. Maskey finished first in 1:09.51, while Lama was second in 1:1238 and Cyiera Shuvangini Bazagain came third in 1:24.15.
