Hyatt-Pilot Pen Tennis from Dec 22

Kathmandu, December 16:

Hyatt Regency Kathmandu in association with Pilot Pen is organising the Hyatt-Pilot Pen Open Tennis Championship 2006 here at the Hyatt courts from December 22-24.

The tournament features two categories — Corporate and Open. In corporate section, there will be competitions in men’s singles, mixed doubles/men’s doubles and veteran’s singles, while Open section will have men’s singles competitions, said the organisers at a press meet today. The organisers are expecting not less than 16 participants each in all the categories.

Ajit Shah, promoter, Lotus Entertainment; Piyush Goenka, director, Fair Trade; Prasanna Adhikari, director, marketing, Hyatt; and Ashish Bista, MD, Lotus Entertainment were present on the occasion.

The winners will get gift hampers worth $550 and $250 in men’s singles and mixed doubles/men’s doubles respectively in corporate section, while the top two winners in veteran section will receive Rs 12,000 and Rs 6,000 worth gift vouchers. The winner and runner-up in men’s singles in Open category will be awarded Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Fit-rite and Avenues TV are the co-sponsors, while The Himalayan Times is the official media of the tournament, which is supported by NRL , The Raymond Shop and Fiber.
