KATHMANDU: Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd is organising the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club on March 15-16. Around 130 golfers are expected to take part in the open tournament, informed the organisers at a press meet on Wednesday.

The tournament will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format. “To accommodate the large number of participants, the tournament is being organised over two days,” said Sr Golf Director at Gokarna Forest Resort.

The tournament features overall (net), gross, women, senior, junior and Hyundai owners categories apart from longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and most birdies. “Apart from other prizes, the Hole-in-One winner will be awarded with all-new Santro car,” said Marketing and Communications Head Awashis Ojha. “Hyundai is sponsoring different golf tournaments worldwide, with the perspective of developing and promoting the overall golf spirit, out of which PGA Tour, Tournament of the Champions is one of the world’s prestigious events,” Ojha added.
