Indian Embassy beat Nepali Media team

Kathmandu, March 20:

Indian Embassy defeated Media team by eight wickets in the day’s friendly match held at the Embassy ground today.

Indian Embassy won the toss and invited Media team to bat first. Media team were bowled out for 124 in 20.5 overs of the 25-over-a-side match. Devendra Subedi top-scored for the media team with 30 runs, while Jai Nishant scored 20. Puspa Sharma scored 21 and Nabin Aryal made 10 runs for the media team.

For Indian Embassy, Amit Jain took four wickets. In reply, Indian Embassy overcame the target in 11.4 overs for the loss of two wickets. R Kannan top-scored in the match with 69 runs, while Manjit Singh remained unbeaten on 22. Nabin Aryal and Roshik Shretha took one wicket each for Media team.

The winning team received Rs 7,000, while man of the match R Kannan pocketed Rs 2,000. Amit Jain of Indian Embassy and Devendra Subedi of Media team were declared the best bowler and the best batsman respectively and received Rs 1,500 each.

President of Cricket Association Jai Kumar Nath Shah and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shyam Saran gave away prizes to the winners of the match organised by Reporters’ Club Nepal.
