Int’l karate on Sunday

KATHMANDU: All Nepal Sports Federation is organising the first International Open Karate Championship at the International Sports Complex in Lalitpur from Sunday.

Around 500 karatekas from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will compete in the three-day event, informed organising committee president Bishwash Dhungana at a press meet on Friday.

The players will fight for a total of 70 each gold and silver medals along with 140 bronze medals in age group kumite and kata events. Tournament director Bishan Mote said 300 karatekas from Nepal will take part in the event. — HNS
