Islamabad, April 25:
Pakistan’s cricket board reappointed Inzamam-ul-Haq as Pakistan’s cricket captain on Monday following his side’s successful tour of archrival India. Inzamam will lead the side for the next year up to the Asia Cup in Pakistan scheduled for April 2006, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said. “He showed good leadership qualities in India, therefore we decided to extend his tenure for one year,” Khan said after a three-hour meeting of the board’s advisory council in Islamabad. Inzamam, 35, has scored 21 centuries in 100 Test matches, averaging 50.02. He’s also scored 10,859 runs in 342 one-day internationals. Vice-captain Younis Khan would continue as Inzamam’s deputy.
