Kathmandu, April 4
Jawalakhel Youth Club defeated Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club 2-1 and moved to the top of Martyrs Memorial A Division League table, while New Road Team came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw with Church Boys United, here today.
At the ANFA Complex grounds, Fode Fofana and Nkoto Synous Masoabi scored one goal each for JYC, while Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri replied for Satdobato. With their fourth victory in the league, JYC moved to the top with 13 points from six matches, while Satdobato slipped to third with 12 points.
Fofana opened the scoring for JYC in the 43rd minute after he converted from the spot. Masoabi found the back of the nets in the 50th minute to double thetally. Thakuri pulled one back for Satdobato with his fifth goal of the league in the 75th minute.
At the Chyasal Stadium, Church Boys United took a 2-0 lead but NRT hit back with two goals in the last 20 minutes including the equaliser in the injury time of the match. United, who missed a chance to go to the top of the table after the draw, remained unmoved at the second position with 12 points from six matches, while NRT are 13th on three points.
Ashish Chaudhary opened the scoring for United in the 20th minute before skipper Ananta Tamang doubled the lead in the 62nd minute when he converted a free kick from 40 yards out into a sensational goal.
Rohan Khagdi cut the deficit in the 71st minute, while Saroj Tamang scored the equaliser for NRT moments before the end.
