Kaski, Dharan enter last eight
KATHMANDU: Kaski and Dharan reached the women’s quarter-finals of the third White House Cup Under 19 National Basketball Tournament here today.

Council covered hall, Kaski defeated Dharan 42-12 riding on 13 points from Ronita Gurung. Despite the loss, Dharan reached the last eight as group runners up. Kaski took lead in the first three quarters which helped them earn a place in the quarter-finals.
Kaski scored 15 while conceded four points in the first quarter to Dharan. Dharan were unable to score in the second when Kaski added another five and their win was assured with a huge 16-0 lead in the third. They were behind in the final quarter 6-8 but that made no difference in the final outcome.
In the last men’s league match, Kaski outplayed Chitwan 52-19 and booked their pre-quarterfinals berth. Kaski posted 12 points in the first quarter to that of the three from Chitwan. They went with a 25-9 lead into the second half when they netted 13 points when Chitwan could only add six.
Chitwan reduced the deficit in the third quarter with a slim one point lead (10-9) but Kaski completely dominated the final quarter scoring 18 points and restricted the opponents for a naught. Suman Pun top scored with 19 points for Kaski. The knockout stages of both the men’s and women’s section will begin from Tuesday.
