Kathmandu crush Nuwakot
Kathmandu, March 4:
Kathmandu registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over Nuwakot district in the Wai Wai Under-19 Regional Selection Cricket Tournament here at Tribhuvan University Stadium today.
Electing to bat first, Nuwakot were bundled out for just 48 runs in 19.4 overs with Raman Shrestha and skipper Gyanendra Malla inflicting the damages with the ball.
Opener Bijay Gurung was the only Nuwakot batsman to score in double figures and remained unbeaten on 11 off 55 balls. Man of the match Raman finished with 4-9 from 4.4 overs and Gyanendra took 3-3 from four overs for Kathmandu.
In reply, openers Indra Kamal Manandhar and Bijay Gautam guided Kathmandu to victory in the 11th over with an unbeaten stand of 51. Indra Kamal scored 25 off 29 balls and Bijay made 16 off 33 deliveries.
