Kaustuv beat Tigers, claim AEC Super Cup

Kathmandu, June 23

Kaustuv College defeated Chitwan Tigers by 100 runs to win the title of the AEC Super Cup Cricket here at the Ultimate Indoors today.

In the 18-over-a-side match, Chitwan Tigers scored 67 runs before Kaustuv College reached 167. Bipin Karki scored 22 runs and Uttam Kadayat contributed 18 for Chitwan Tigers.

Dipendra Mainali and Rupesh Shrivastav took three wickets each for Kaustuv.

In reply, Mainali returned to top score for Kaustuv with 37 runs, while Pradeep Tondon scored 35 and Dhiraj Adhikari contributed

34 runs. Aawaz Ghimire took two wickets for Chitwan Tigers.

Man-of-the-match Mainali was adjudged the player-of-the-series and received Rs 5,000.

Earlier, Chitwan Tigers defeated Neplomart by 56 runs and Kaustuv College beat Rising Nepal by 125 runs in the semi-final matches.

In the first match, Neplomart scored 75 runs before Tigers reached 131, while Kaustuv posted 157 before Rising Nepal managed 33 runs.
