Kaustuv, Daffodil, Kids Learning win Toffichoo Champions Cup

Kathmandu, June 23

Kaustuv Academy, Daffodil School and Kids Learning School won the titles of the Toffichoo Junior Champions Cup Inter-school Futsal Tournament here at the Grassroots Futsal Academy in Mandikhatar today.

Kaustuv defeated St Xavier’s School 5-0 in the U-15 category final, while Daffodil hammered Sanskriti 9-1 to win the U-13 section trophy. Likewise, Kids Learning saw off Mangal Deep School 2-0 in the U-11 section final.

Sujan Rai of Kaustuv Academy won the man-of-the-match award, while his teammate Bibesh Magar was named the best player of the tournament in U-15 section. Likewise, Aarav Khyaju of Gurukul School won the highest scorer’s award and he was also named the emerging player of the tournament.

In U-13 category, Kabir Tamang of Daffodil bagged three awards — player of the tournament, man-of-thematch in final and the highest scorer. Kripal Giri of Gurukul was named the emerging player of the tournament.

Likewise, Kids Learning School dominated the individual awards in U-11 category.

Kuldev Titung won the player of the tournament award, while Yogesh Negi was named the player of the final and he also bagged the highest scorer’s award.

Prasun Tuladhar of Little Angels’ School was declared the emerging player.

Goodwill ambassador of the tournament and national team goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong lent tips to the aspiring footballers on dribbling and finishing skills and also shed lights on the importance of fair play.

A total of 145 teams from 87 schools of the Kathmandu Valley took part in the four-day tournament organised by Grassroots Futsal Academy under the sponsorship of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, the distributor of Toffichoo in Nepal.

Vice-president (Marketing) of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Dipra Lahiri and footballer Chemjong handed over the prizes to the winners of the four-day tournament.
