TIME OUT

KATHMANDU: Former national team skipper Paras Khadka has been ruled out of the Bajaj Pulsar Tri-Nation T20 International Series starting here at the TU Stadium on Saturday.

Khadka was injured while fielding during a training session earlier this week and he was ruled out of the series after doctors advised him to stay out of the grounds for at least two weeks. "(I) bumped my right shoulder while attempting to take a catch last Sunday during a practice game and it aggravated my right rotator cuff muscle tendon and inflammation resulting in small tear," wrote Khadka on social media platform. "As per doctor's advise and supervision over the last five days, (I have) been advised to undergo 2-3 weeks of rehab and extensive physiotherapy," he added. "Will miss the tournament but I believe The Team is good enough to win it all the way." Cricket Association of Nepal called Sundeep Jora as Khadka's replacement in the 15-man squad. The double league series, which features the Netherlands and Malaysia, is the first tournament for Nepal in 15 months and also the first for event for coach Dav Whatmore.

Nepal will play against the Netherlands in the inaugural match on Saturday. Top two teams will make it to the final after league round.
