KATHMANDU, APRIL 19
The Nepali National Men's Cricket team has registered a comfortable 9-wicket victory against Malaysia in their second encounter at the ongoing Tri-nation T20 series, on Monday.
Batting first, Malaysia managed to gather 109 runs in 16.5 overs as Nepali pacer Karan KC scalped three wickets in his three overs while the star leggie Sandeep Lamichhane too etched two wickets.
The previously successful opening pair proved their mettle yet again after putting a 102 run century stand for the first wicket.
Right-handed batsman Kushal Bhurtel, 24, contributed the most runs by smashing a quickfire 61 off 41 deliveries while his partner-in-crime Aasif Sheikh too made important 42 runs to clinch the victory in just 12.1 overs.
After stomping the Netherlands and Malaysia in the initial two games of the tournament being held in the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, hosts Nepal stand as the table toppers in the points table with four points.
Nepal is scheduled to face the Netherlands on Tuesday afternoon at the same venue.
