KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 24
Biratnagar Kings and Sudurpaschim Royals secured victories to make it three wins in as many matches today at the TU Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu.
The Kings edged Biratnagar Bolts by nine runs, while the Royals comfortably defeated Karnali Yaks by 45 runs. Both teams are tied on six points, but Sudurpaschim Royals top the eight-team table thanks to a superior net run rate.
In the earlier fixture, Biratnagar Kings lost the toss and were sent in to bat. They posted a decent total of 135/7 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting the Bolts to 126/9 to earn a hard-fought nine-run victory. Sandeep Lamichhane was the chief destroyer, claiming 4/11 in his four-over spell. He was later named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
In the next fixture, Karnali Yaks won the toss and elected to field first before restricting Royals to 139/9 in their alloted 20 overs. Airee led Sudurpaschim Royals to victory with an impressive all-round display, scoring 39 off 28 balls and taking 4/24 with the ball.
"The ball was spinning while we were batting, so we were confident it would turn when we bowled as well. The team is doing great," Dipendra Singh Airee said while receiving his Player of the Match trophy.
In tomorrow's match, Lumbini Lions will face Kathmandu Gorkhas under the lights at the same TU Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
