Lakpa guides HWHIC to final

Former Nepali international Lakpa Lama’s allround performance saw Himalayan White House International College (HWHIC) register an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Bagmati Modern College in the first semi-final of the Dr Thakur Nath Panta Memorial Inter-College Cricket Tournament, which has been organised by National Campus for Business Studies, here at Tribhuvan University Stadium today.
Put into bat first, Bagmati College were bowled out for 85 runs in the 25.5 overs. White House chased the total in 17 overs losing only one wicket. Mayur Malakar top-scored for Bagmati with 28 runs while opener Rajendra Karki contributed 10 runs.
Man of the match Lakpa Lama took four wickets conceding 18 runs in seven overs with his orthodox spin while Sujin Acharya claimed two wickets. Binod Das, Souraj Thapa and Pranesh Karki shared one wicket each for the winning team.
After the heroics with the ball, Lakpa returned to score a half century to guide his team to a comfortbable win. Lakpa hit eight boundaries in his 51-ball 58 before being bowled by Binyash Neupane in the 17th over. Subash Khakurel on the other end scored unbeaten 24 runs including three fours.
