Candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have taken early leads in all five constituencies of Jhapa in the ongoing vote count for the House of Representatives election, with Balendra Shah emerging as the frontrunner in Jhapa Constituency-5.
Shah has secured 6,551 votes, far ahead of KP Sharma Oli of the CPN-UML, who has received 1,428 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Mandhara Chimariya has obtained 186 votes, while Ranjit Tamang of the Nepal Communist Party has received 129 votes.
In Jhapa-4, RSP candidate Shambhu Prasad Dhakal is leading with 1,775 votes, followed by Lal Prasad Sanwa Limbu of the CPN-UML with 1,248 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Deu Kumar Thebe has secured 470 votes.
Similarly, in Jhapa-3, RSP's Prakash Pathak is ahead with 5,254 votes. Rajendra Prasad Lingden of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is in second place with 2,779 votes. Deepak Timilsina of the Shram Sanskriti Party has secured 1,468 votes, followed by Hari Bahadur Rajbanshi of the CPN-UML with 1,037 votes and Rajendra Kumar Ghimire of the Nepali Congress with 880 votes.
In Jhapa-2, RSP candidate Indira Ranamagar is leading with 4,580 votes, while Devraj Ghimire of the CPN-UML has received 1,310 votes. Bhadra Nepal of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has secured 203 votes, and Nepali Congress candidate Sarita Prasai has obtained 191 votes.
Likewise, in Jhapa-1, RSP's Nisha Dangi is ahead with 3,170 votes, followed by Kebal Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party with 1,320 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Keshav Raj Pandey has received 1,028 votes, while Ram Chandra Uprety of the Nepali Communist Party has secured 780 votes.
