KATHMANDU: Bounphachan Bounkong scored a brace as Laos defeated Bhutan 2-1 in the second match of the Prime Minister Three Nations Cup here at the Dasharath Stadium on Saturday.

Bounkong put Laos ahead in the third minute, while Chencho Gyeltshen levelled the scores for Bhutan in the 34th minute.

Bounkong restored the lead with his second goal of the match in the 71st minute and that was enough for Laos to record victory. Nepal and Laos are tied on three points and the home team will face Bhutan in the last league round match on March 28.

Nepal defeated Laos 2-0 in the opening match on Wednesday. Top two teams will make it to the final slated for March 31.
