SCP Super Sixes

KATHMANDU: The Soaltee Crowne Plaza (SCP) postponed the SCP Super Sixes Cricket Tournament due to wet TU grounds. “We were forced to postpone the event due to the ground condition,” said Sarad Upadhyay, coordinator of the tournament. The tournament — which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday — will now be held from October 30. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Valley Public School defeated Clinton School 36-16 at the second Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Tournament. In other girls’ matches, Suryodaya beat Young Heart 22-18 and Greenland edged past Reliance 17-15. In the boys’ section, Kathmandu Valley beat Anmol Jyoti 21-4, Himalayan beat Clinton 41-20, Penwood defeated Mount Senai 26-12 and Young Heart sneaked past Greenland 48-45. — HNS

Pachhai resigns

KATHMANDU: Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) executive committee member Tekraj Pachhai resigned on Tuesday. “I resign on moral grounds following the controversy over the legality of NeBA elections,” said Pachhai. “The working procedures of NeBA president Lama Tendi Sherpa and general secretary Mahendra Man Shakya were also the factors to resign from the office,” he added. — HNS
