NSJF PoY Award

KATHMANDU: The NSJF LG Player of the Year Award is slated for Monday. The much awaited mega event honours players, coaches and sports personality for their remarkable achievement in Nepali sports. Hetauda win

KATHMANDU: Hetauda defeated Gularia Municipality 9-1 and Mahendra Nagar edged past Baglung Municipality 1-0 in the the third Inter-municipality Football Tournament on Sunday. Nima Lama struck twice while Dabin Shrestha, Bittu Baniya, Nischal Lama, Yunil Malla, Subin Ghimire, Amir Shrestha and Sunil Lama scored a goal apiece for Hetauda. Dayaram Tharu converted for Gularia. Padam Chand scored a winner for Mahendra Nagar. Lalitpur takes on Dharan and Pokhara faces Thimi on Monday. — HNS

BHARATPUR: Surya Bahadur Thapa defeated Ganesh Chand 21-18, 21-11 in the men’s singles during the 32nd National Badminton Championship on Sunday. Anil Lakhe, Pankaj Chand, Balram Thapa, Basanta Bajracharya, Indra Mahato, Narendra Thapa, Bikash Shrestha, Nawaraj Joshi, Laxman Chand, Bharat Shrestha and Prajwol Rana also won. — HNS
