LALITPUR: Pravin Limbu, Shyam Nepali and Pawan Khadka scored a goal each as Shivapuri registered a 3-1 win over TIA, who recorded a 18-0 win in the opening match, at the Coca Cola Cup Inter-school Football Tournament here on Friday. In other matches at the ANFA Complex, IJ Pioneer beat Mahendra Adarsha 2-0, Gitamata outplayed Samling 6-0 and Suryodaya defeated Secret Heart 2-0. At Chyasal, Deep Kunja beat Laboratory 1-0, Siddhartha Vanasthali beat Amar 2-0, Little Angels’ overcame Tri Padma 2-0. — HNS

Inter-bank volleyball

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastriya Bank (NRB red) and Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) entered the quarter-finals of the Inter-bank Volleyball Tournament, which has been organised by the NRB Employees Association. In the Group A match, NRB (red) defeated RBB 25-12, 25-18 and topped the group ahead of RBB. In other matches, Everest Bank beat Standard Chartered 25-23, 25-22, and NRB (blue) outplayed Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank 25-14, 25-10. — HNS

Karate C’ship begins

KATHMANDU: The first Inter-dojo Wadoryu Karate Championship began here at the Yeti Palace on Friday. In all, 300 players from 23 dojos across the country are taking part in the two-day championship. On the first day, Sanjeev Lama and Karma Lama entered the boys 25-kg final, while Laxman Lama and Ram Lama made it to the 30kg final and Prakash Rai and Om Prakash Rai advanced to the 40kg final. — HNS
