LALITPUR: Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 4-1 in the third Nepal Bank ‘A’ Division Junior (U-14) League Football. Silas Rai struck hat-trick (37th, 59th, 64th) after Rajendra Thapa put JYC ahead in the fifth minute. Bikash Kunwar pulled back a consolation goal for TAC. Carlsberg MMC and Nabil Three Star Club also won in other matches of the day. MMC crushed Machhindra Energizer Club 6-1 and Three Star beat Sony Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) 2-0. Sonam Lama scored four (27th, 59th, 60th, 66th) and Saugat Khannal (29th) and Ram Karan Thapa Magar (57th) added one each for MMC while Madhav Mainali (31st) replied for Machhindra. Head Office win

LALITPUR: The Airport team defeated Head Office team 4-3 in tie-breaker in the final of Inter-Department Football Tournament, organised by Buddha Air to mark its ninth anniversary, here at Buddhi Bikash Mandal grounds on Friday. The match was decided on penalties after a 3-3 deadlock in the regular 90 minutes and both the teams scored one goal each in the added 15 minutes. Biswas Rana struck twice and Sunil Gurung and Deepak Basnet scored one each for the Airport team, while Ravin Chand netted two goals and Rajeev Sharma and Kishor Prasad Shrestha got one goal apiece for the Head Office team. — HNS
