Cricketers return
KATHMANDU: The Nepali senior cricket team that lost to the United Arab Emirates by 97 runs in the ACC Premier League match on Monday at Sharjah Stadium in UAE returned home on Tuesday. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) vice presidents Upendra Bhattarai and Sriharsha Koirala received the team at Tribhuvan International Airport. Nepal beat Hong Kong by 165 runs in the first match at home soil last month and will play against Singapore at TU Stadium from November 10-12. — HNS
School basketball
KATHMANDU: Valley Public School is organising the first Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Tournament on November 11-18. In all, 24 schools in boys’ section and 16 in girls’ section will compete for the championship. The top three teams in both the sections will be get Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively while fair play, valuable player, highest scorer and best three-pointer awards will also be provided in both the sections. — HNS
SEB volleyball
KATHMANDU: Samakhushi English Boarding School is organising the second SEB Valley-wide Inter-school Running Shield Volleyball Tournament on November 9-12. The league matches will of three sets while knockout phase will be played in the best-of-five format, the organisers said today. Students above Grade 10 will not be allowed to participate in the tournament. — HNS
