Loyalty Cup football
KATHMANDU: Loyalty Academy of Mandikhatar is organising the second Valleywide Inter-school Junior Football Tournament from November 6. In all, 25 schools are taking part in the 11-day knock-out tournament, said the organisers at a press meet on Saturday. Apart from the winners, the organisers will also award the best player and the highest scorer. — HNS
Bowling tournament
KATHMANDU: The Coordinating Council for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Nepal-Japan Diplomatic Relation is organising the bowling tournament for diplomats at Bowling Boulevard on November 11. More than 30 teams are expected to take part in the one-day event which will be live telecast by Image Channel, said professional bowler Nilendra Mali. “We have invited 40 diplomatic missions and are expecting at least 30 teams,” said Mali at a press meet on Saturday. “Every team will have three players, who will play three games each and the team with the best average will win the title,” he informed. Hosts Prime win
KATHMANDU: Bikram Joshi scored 22 points as hosts Prime College outplayed Xavier International College 67-10 in the inaugural match of the fourth Prime Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament. Rato Bangala, Classic College, Gyanodaya and Lincoln College also won their respective matches. Rato Bangala beat FW Taylor 50-11 riding on Om Shrestha’s 23 points while Robin Giri netted 20 points to help Classic College beat Mangal Secondary School 43-31. Gyanodaya defeated Whitefield 60-47. Deep Narayan Singh top scored with 25 points for Whitefield while Kalyan Tulachan scored 18 for the winners. The last game of the day saw Lincoln crush KIST 77-21 with Shirish Pokharel scoring 30 points for the winning side. — HNS
