Clinton win
KATHMANU: Clinton Public and Deep Jyoti School won their juior boys’ section matches at the fourth Kwiks Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Friday. Clinton defeated New Summit School 18-5 with Nirmal Chhetri scoting 10 points while Deep Jyoti defeated Ganesh School by 9-6. In other matches, Prithvi School defeated AIA 19-4, Golden Peak outplayed Himalayan School 10-2 and Angel Heart registered a 6-2 win over Bishnumati School. In the senior boys’ section, Gyan Niketan and Deep Jyoti won their respective matches. Lal Bahadur Limbu scored seven points in Gyan Niketan’s 33-27 win over British Gorkha, while Deep Jyoti registered a 37-14 win over AIA. — HNS
MYA release players
BHAKTAPUR: The Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) released their first batch players selected for the ANFA Academy here on Friday. Sanjaya Rajbahak and Dilip Tamang are selected for the U-14 group and Adarsha Nakarmi, Bikesh Duwal and Jeevan Thapa have been selected for the U-12 group of ANFA Academy. The MYA president Upendra Man Singh and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality CEO Ram Prasad Pathak bade farewell to the footballers. The MYA also congratulated Asta Narayan Kabe and Lalit Krishna Shrestha for being elected as the vice president of Bhaktapur District FA and ANFA respectively. Earlier, the MYA defeated Sahara Academy of Pokhara 2-1 in a friendly football match. Sahara will also play a match against ANFA Academy in thieir Kathmandu tour. — HNS
