KATHMANDU: Manang Marsyangdi Club defeated Sankata Club 4-2 in the Nepal Bank Junior (U-14) League football on Sunday. Bishal Rai struck twice and Prabin Shrestha and Sujan Limbu added one each for MMC, while Nirajan Shrestha and Sangam Ghale scored for Sankata. In other matches, Bikash Kunwar scored the only goal as Nabil Three Star Club beat Boys’ Union Club 1-0 and Jawalakhel Youth Club blanked Brigade Boys Club 2-0 on goals from Sailesh Khaling and Dilip Rajbansi. — HNS

Baluwatar win

KATHMANDU: Baluwatar Cricket Club registered a comprehensive 105-run win over Kathmandu Khel Mandal (KKM) while Mahabir Club beat Yangal Cricket Club by five wickets in the Yeti Air Cup Cricket Region No 3 selection tournament on Sunday. Batting first, Baluwatar scored 208 runs in the allotted 40 overs and packed up KKM to 103 in 30.3 overs. In another game, Yangal was bowled for 142 runs in 39.3 overs and Mahabir chased the total in 37.5 overs with the loss of five wickets. — HNS

‘C’ Div selection

LALITPUR: ANFA is organising the ‘C’ Division League selection tournament from May 22 in Kathmandu. As in the previous years, teams from outside the valley are also expected to take part in the open selection tournament, said ANFA in a release on Sunday. The selection tournament will send four clubs in the ‘C’ Division league, which will be joined by existing 13 clubs. — HNS
