Galaxy lift trophy

KATHMANDU: Galaxy Public School and Kathmandu Valley clinched the sixth Sagarmatha Valleywide Inter-school Basketball Championships on Thursday. Galaxy beat Sagarmatha 15-2 in the girls’ section while Kathmandu Valley overcame Campion Academy 46-37 in the boys’ section. Suruchi Pun of Galaxy and Tenzing Dhakhwa of Campion claimed the MVP awards. — HNS

NIMS beat Sambotta

KATHMANDU: Jiven Bhattarai netted 41 points as Niten Memorial School (NIMS) edged to a 78-65 victory over Sambotta during the second Daffodil Cup Senior Boys Basketball Tournament on Thursday. In football, Learning Realm International (LRI) and NIMS played a 5-5 draw. Bibek Thapa scored four goals and Ayush KC added the other for LRI. Saroj Tamang also scored four goals for NIMS while Sanit Gurung struck the other. Daffodil got a walkover win from Galaxy in Thursday’s another football match. — HNS
