JYC in semis
RUPANDEHI: Raj Kumar Ghising struck five goals as Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) hammered Durga Steel Plant Academy of Kolkata to enter the semi-finals of the Tilottama Gold Cup Football Tournament on Tuesday. Sunil Subedi, Samir Bista, Robin Rai, Yogesh Gurung and Laxmi Narayan Shrestha also joined in the goal feast. JYC will face Tribhuvan Army Club in the semi-finals on Thursday. On Wednesday, Nabil Three Star Club will play Rupandehi-XI in the first semi-final. — HNS
‘C’ Div League
LALITPUR: Varsity Football Club was relegated from the ‘C’ Division League Football after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Garuda Sports Club at the ANFA Technical Centre on Tuesday. Krishna Lama and Om Ale scored for Garuda while Bom Shree and Abhishekh Singh were on target for Varsity, who lie bottom of Group A with three points from six matches. In another match, Sanepa Club overcame Sri Bhagwati Club 4-1 on two goals from Dilon Loktan and one apiece from Bijay Shahi and Bikram Adhikari. Deepak Kaji Joshi scored for Sri Bhagwati. Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) and Sakchham Nagar Youth Club played a goalless draw. The MYA lead the standing on better goal than Sanepa. Both have nine points, but Sanepa have played one game less. Sakchham Nagar are next with eight points, one more than Charumati Club. — HNS
