Prime College clean sweep

KATHMANDU: Prime College clean swept the Don Bosco Weeka Talentia Inter-college Basketball Tournament winning both the boys and the girls’ championship here on Tuesday. The boys’ team defeated British Gorkha 43-37 and the girls’ team overcame Orient College 28-11 in the finals. Rabi Giri of Prime, who finished top scorer of the tournament, contributed 21 while Anish Gurung netted 12 for British Gorkha in the final. Anish was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Gyanu Gauchan of Prime, who chipped in nine points in the final, finished top scorer in the girls’ section. Maya Shyangten of Orient won the MVP award. — HNS

Lincoln claim basketball league

KATHMANDU: Suzanne Kunninghan netted seven points as Lincoln beat Orient College 24-18 in the final of the CSSV Invitational Girls’ Basketball League on Tuesday. Maya Shyangten of Orient was adjudged the most valuable player. In all, four teams took part in the event organised by Community and Social Service Volunteers. — HNS

K&K win

KATHMANDU: K&K College claimed the first CCI Cup Inter-college Volleyball with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 win over Crimson International College (CIC) in final on Tuesday. Classic College International ‘A’ beat Deep Jyoti 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18 in the third place decider. Earlier in the semi-finals, K&K overcame Deep Jyoti and CIC defeated Classic ‘A’ 25-22, 17-25, 25-17. Khagendra Shrestha of host Classic ‘A’ won the best player award. — HNS

Tri Jyoti hammer Sambotta

KATHMANDU: Tri Jyoti hammered Sambotta High School 9-2 in the second Daffodil Cup Inter-school Football on Tuesday. Manish Singh struck a hat-trick, Alish Shrestha and Parladh KC scored two each and Sanil Thapa Magar and Samir KC added one goal apiece. Deuba Thapa converted both the goals for Sambotta. Earlier, Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) School and Daffodil played a 1-1 draw. Bibek Bohara scored for APF before Animesh Gadtaula equalised for Daffodil. — HNS

Maha Manjushree crush Dallu

KATHMANDU: Maha Manjushree crushed Dallu School 28-2 in the first Junior Boys Basketball Tournament on Tuesday. In other matches, Clinton beat Marsyangdi 20-8, Galaxy sneaked past Greenland 13-11, Sri Diwa beat Whitefield 14-6 and Intensive edged Swarnim 10-9. — HNS
