KATHMANDU: Learning Realm International (LRI), Bright Land and hosts Daffodil School recorded wins in the Daffodil Cup Junior Football Tournament here on today.

LRI hammered Wits Academy 8-3 with four goals from Sandesh Khadka and one each from Manish, Bijay Thapa, Sanjok Lama and Santosh Lama.

Subash Lama, Umesh Lama and Bikeash Lama scored a goal each for Wits. In another match, Sudip Thapa Magar scored a brace and Arjun Lama and Bishnu Silwal added one apiece as Bright Land saw off Trungram International Academy (TIA) 4-1. Rabin Dhamal scored the consolation goal for TIA. In the last match of the day, Daffodil dispatched St Xavier’s (Jawalakhel) 7-2.

Minraj Tamang scored a hat-trick while Prabin Thakur and Chhandup Lama scored one apiece for the hosts. Sujay Lal Shrestha and Karna Thapa replied for St Xavier’s.

In the senior boys basketball, Baba Boarding School eased past Awareness International Academy 39-20, Daffodil saw off HIMS 38-26, Reliance International hammered Bagmati Boarding School 57-18. In the girls’ section, Niten Memorial School overcame Mahendra Bhawan 30-13.
