Manandhar claims six golds

Devesh Manandhar of Nepal APF Club claimed six gold medals and Niharika Tuladhar of Lincoln School bagged five in the sixth NSA Cup Open and Age-group Swimming Championship that concluded here at the International Sports Complex pool on Saturday.
Manandhar won the men’s 100m backstroke, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly events. He also bagged two silver and a bronze medals.
Likewise, Tuladhar claimed four gold medals in women’s open categories — 100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. She bagged gold in the 4X50m freestyle relay in age-group event. She also won two silver and a bronze medals.
In age-group, Lincoln School won the team championship with 73 points, while Little Angels’ School came second with 44 points and Premier International were third with 42 points.
The championship, organised by the Nepal Swimming Association, also served as the selection tournament for the FINA World Championship to be held in Canada later this year.
