Manang stun Three Star; Chyasal win

Signature Manang Marshyangdi Club stunned Ruslan Three Star Club 2-1 in the Pulsar Martyrs Memorial A Division League, while Valley Chyasal Youth Club thumped New Road Team 5-1 here today.
In the day’s second match at the ANFA Complex grounds, striker Anjan Bista netted one for MMC, who got an own goal from Bijay Dhimal, while Ranjit Dhimal replied for Three Star.
MMC took the lead in the 11th minute when he found the nets following a pass from Heman Gurung. MMC doubled the lead in a dramatic fashion seven minutes later. Goalkeeper Alan Neupane came out of his box to make a wild clearance towards Three Star’s half but the ball entered the goal taking a slight deflection to Bijay Dhimal. Bikram Lama ran towards the ball to make a clearance but his efforts went in vain.
Three Star pulled one back in the 85th minute from the spot. MMC defender Mohammed Asif brought down Ajayi Martins in the danger zone and Dhimal converted the resulting penalty to cut the deficit. But Three Star failed to find the equaliser to face their first defeat.
Earlier, Bimal Gharti Magar and Amir Shrestha netted two goals each and Santosh Sahukhala scored one as Chyasal registered their first victory, while Mashood Opeyemi Agboola scored the consolation goal for NRT.
Shrestha opened the scoring for Chyasal in the 14th minute in a beautiful move. Bimal Gharti Magar passed the ball to Sanjog Rai and he set it for unmarked Shrestha, who buried the ball into the far post through a volley. Shrestha doubled the lead in the 29th minute when he slotted home another volley leaving NRT goalkeeper Sojit Gurung unmoved.
Bimal Gharti Magar made it 3-0 in the 57th minute following a head pass from Hemant Thapa Magar inside the six-yard box, while Santosh Sahukhala extended
the lead in the 64th minute after he beat past defender Christian Basile Kameni and goalkeeper Sojit Gurung.
Bimal Gharti Magar scored his second and Chyasal’s fifth goal in the 86th minute.
With their third win in a row, MMC moved to the top of the league table with nine points, while Three Star slipped to second with six points.
After their first win, Chyasal accumulated four points from three matches, while NRT — who faced their second straight loss — have one point.
