Kathmandu, July 15

Manita Shrestha Pradhan won bronze medal in the women’s below-57kg weight category in the 11th Asian Cadet and 18th Juniors Asian Judo Championships in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Saturday.

The 12th South Asian Games silver medallist, Pradhan defeated Gulboeva Fazilat of Tajikistan in the bronze medal match.

Earlier, Pradhan beat Sabitri of India in the first round before seeing off Sultanova Sanobar of Uzbekistan in the second round, informed Nepal team coach Birendra Ranjit.

In other matches, Kiran Gadel faced defeat against Sedighi Mohammadreza of Iran in the men’s below-60, while Indra Bahadur Shrestha went down to Turdubaev Ertur of Kyrgyzstan in the men’s below-66kg event.
