Kathmandu, September 21

Vijay Distillery Pvt Ltd is organising the Master Selection Golf Tournament to mark the centenary celebration of Royal Nepal Golf Club here on Friday and Saturday.

More than 100 golfers are expected to take part in the tournament which will be played under stableford ¾ handicap format, informed the organisers at a press meet today. The event features men, women, gross, senior and super senior categories.

The overall winner of the two-day tournament will receive round-trip tickets to Bangkok for a couple, while the runner-up will get Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu air ticket, informed tournament coordinator Kishan Agrawal. Other winners will also get attractive prizes.

Around 40 golfers will complete their rounds on Friday, while remaining 60 players will compete on Saturday. “As the RNGC is celebrating its 100 years, we are having this tournament to mark the historic occasion,” said Jawalakhel Group of Companies Director Srihar SJB Rana. “To make it more special, we are also launching 1000 case limited edition of Masters Selection Blended Malt Scotch Whisky,” said Rana. “The RNGC is the second Royal Club in Asia to celebrate 100 years after Royal Calcutta Golf Club, we have planned to present the limited edition Masters Selection to the Royal clubs,” he added.

The event is fourth golf tournament sponsored by Jawalakhel Group of Industries in a year. “We have five premium brands and we are sponsoring golf tournaments through them, while we are promoting football and cricket through our deluxe brands,” said Chief of Brand at Vijay Distillery Sushil Shrestha. RNGC Monthly Medal, New Year’s Cup and Tourism Cup are the other events sponsored by Jawalakhel Group of Industries.
