Maharjan, Magar bag titles

Kathmandu’s Narayan Gopal Maharjan and Laxmi Magar of Nuwakot won gold medals in the XCO Mountain Bike Cross Country Championship at the Hattiban Hills today.
In men’s category, Maharjan took two hours, 10 minutes and 31 seconds to complete the 36km distance. Tribhuvan Army Club’s Okesh Raj Bajracharya clocked two hours, 12 minutes and one second to finish second, while his teammate Pratap Thapa came third in two hours, 12 minutes and 23 seconds.
A total of 33 riders took part in the event.
In women’s category, Magar finished the 24km distance in one hour, 53 minutes and 18 seconds to claim the first position, while TAC’s Manju Kumari Khadka came second with a timing of two hours and 39 seconds.
Kathmandu’s Roja KC — the South Asian Games silver medal winning triathlon player — finished third in two hours, three minutes and three seconds.
A total of 11 riders competed in the event.
Nepal Cycling Association organised the event under the NSC Championship.
