KATHMANDU: Naresh Chaudhary won the 100m race at the first President Running Shield Districtwide Iner-school Tournament organised by Lalitpur District Sports Development Committee here at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday.

Naresh of Nightingal completed the race in 12.3 seconds, ahead of Birji Sirsha of Himalayan International and Swikar BC of DAV. In girls’ section, Sunita Tudu of IJ Poineer came first in 15.8 seconds. Shreya Joshi and Prakriti Shrestha finished second and third respectively.

Naresh claimed the second gold medal of the day when he won the boys’ javelin throw with a distance of 43.30 metres, beating fellow Nightingale schoolmate Sunil Kumar Sahu and Chhiring Lama of Don Bosco.

Parbati Joshi of Nightingale won the girls’ section gold medal at 14.25 metres, ahead of Parikrama Rai of Rato Bangala and Sushma Sharma of Little Angels’ School.

In volleyball, Adarsha Soul and Annal Jyoti entered the boys’ section final. Adarsha Soul beat Mount Olive 25-7, 25-9, 25-9, while Annal Jyoti defeated Little Angels’ 25-11, 25-13, 25-13. In girls’ section, Nightingale defeated Mahankal 25-16, 25-11, 26-16 to enter the final. The finals are on Saturday.
