KATHMANDU: The Nepalese Association of Victoria felicitated former Nepal national cricket team skipper Paras Khadka in Melbourne on Sunday.
NAV President and Khadka's contemporary Prem Raj Upreti, Maximax Education Consultancy Director Shankar Dharel, and Victoria MPs Cathelin Mathew Ward and Tudd Lu honoured Khadka amidst a charity gala dinner. Upreti lauded Khadka's contribution in Nepali cricket.
"Paras Khadka is a legend of Nepali cricket and it reached to this height due to the historic achievements of the team under his leadership," Upreti said. Thanking the NAV for the felicitation, Khadka requested Nepali communities in Australia to create an environment for cricketers to play in Australia.
Khadka was invited to Australia as goodwill ambassador of the 18th NAV Cup Cricket Tournament and he also distributed the prizes to the winners. In the final of the tournament organised for Nepali communities in Victoria state, Farwest Hunters defeated Nare Kings by three wickets.
