Manang Marshyangdi Club defeated Bagmati Youth Club 2-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Sudurpashchim Chief Minister Khaptad Gold Cup here at the Dhangadhi Stadium on Monday.

DHANGADHI: Manang Marshyangdi Club defeated Bagmati Youth Club 2-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the Sudurpashchim Chief Minister Khaptad Gold Cup here at the Dhangadhi Stadium on Monday.

Koffi Timothee Koudo and Sayid Jomal Daulationaov scored one goal each for MMC, while Shrijan Gautam replied for Bagmati. Koudo put MMC ahead in the 37th minute but their joy did not last long as Gautam scored the equaliser for the Sarlahi-based Bagmati four minutes later.

Daulationaov then found the back of the nets in the 67th minute and that was enough for MMC to make it to the last four. Jiyarat Sheikh of MMC was adjudged the player-of-the-match and he earned Rs 10,000. MMC will now play against Avenir FC for a place in the final on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, hosts Sudurpashchim-XI will play against Nepal Police Club in the fourth and last quarter-final match.
